To those who are missing and reading this notice, and to those who know where the missing are, one phonecall or letter could end the nightmare and distress of those who miss you so much.

10/10/2006 Doug and Mary Lyall were inspired by the Irish National Monument to Missing Persons in Kilkenny. They attended the unveiling ceremony in May 2002.
When they returned to the US they tried to set about getting a similar project going there. That dream has now been realised in the "NEW YORK STATE MISSING PERSONS REMEMBRANCE". See more details. |

31/08/2006 The Missing Persons Association have received a lot of phone calls and a lot of the numbers from the callers are being withheld. Some of the callers are pausing and not speaking.
We would be foolish to disregard the possibilty that these callers are making an attempt to pass on information to us concerning missing people.
We would like to remind these callers that they do not have to leave their names and all calls will be received in strictest confidence. Our only interest in such calls will be to assist in locating missing people. If there are crimes connected to the information that we receive, that will be a matter for the Gardai to deal with.
We welcome all calls. The calls we receive are not recorded. We know that there are people out there with information about missing people. If you have information, do the right thing and make that call at 087-9609885.

31/08/2006 Missing in Ireland Support Service (MISS) is a voluntary Organisation which was established to provide support for families and friends of Missing Persons. One of their aims is to raise public awareness of the problem – this year close to 6,000 people will have been reported to the Gardai as Missing.
Following the success of their 2005 "Missing Miles" in December last they intend to hold another cycle on Saturday and Sunday 14/15th October as part of the public awareness campaign. The event this time, will commence at Naas and travel to Moone where we will remember Jo Jo Dullard. Leaving Moone we will then travel via Athy and Portlaoise to Tullamore to meet Fiona Penders family. There will be an overnight stay in Tullamore. The following day they will head back to Naas via Portarlington, Kildare and Newbridge. During the cycle they will halt briefly at some locations in order to meet the families of long-term missing. They extend an invitation to members of Cycling Clubs throughout Ireland to take part in the event. More information is available at www.miss.ie. Please support the great work that members of MISS do.
